Birth and Death Burrhus Frederic Skinner is one of the most influential psychologists to study and practice, the ideology of Behaviorism. Skinner was born on March 20, 1904 and died on August 18, 1990 due to Leukemia. There are many personal and historical events that shaped B. F. Skinner as a Behavioral Psychologist. Skinner got his Master’s in Psychology at Harvard University on May 1, 1930. While, studying psychology and behaviorism, he invented an operant conditioning chamber, also known as â€Å"the Skinner Box†. After one year, Skinner received his PhD in Psychology and on November 29, 1938, his first book was published called The Behavior of Organisms. The book is about an experimental analysis and studies on his theory behind operant conditioning and behavior. After having achieved a significant amount of success, he invented The Baby Tender under the influence of his wife, Yvonne who desired to have crib that was safe for a baby by keeping it from trapping it legs or suffocating itself under blankets or within bars. Rise And Fall Of Adolf Hitler Essay Hitlers Childhood Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, in a small Austrian village called Braunau-am-Inn. Adlof was born a sickly child, his mother, Klara, watched over him night and day. Klara Hitler protected young Adolf from her short-tempered husband, Alois. Adolf grew into a thin, dark-haired, blue-eyed boy with an angular face (Twisted 63). At the age of 6, Hitler started school and showed excellent achievement in his classes. Outside of school young Hitler was energetic and had many friends. Adolfs home life was far less happy. His father ran the household like a military boot camp. When his father was in the same room as him, Adolf was not allowed to speak without permission. The first signs of Adolfs aggression showed up at the age of 7. Adolf would challenge his tyrannical father and was beaten severely for it. In 1900, at the age of 11, Hitler entered a secondary school that turned out to be disastrous. After entering the school, Adolfs grades dropped in every subject except drawing. Hitler explains this change in academic performance in his book Mein Kampf. Hitler states that he purposely failed his classes to rebel against his father and sabotage all ambition towards him (Bullock 8). During his high school career, Hitler became seriously ill with a lung infection and was forced to drop out of school. After his illness was cured, he then applied to the Vienna Academy of Arts hoping to start a career in painting. Hitler took the admission test and passed it, but when it came down to submitting a piece of art, Hitlers watercolor was rejected. Adolf was rejected from the academy and felt no disappointment, although, Hitler was more concerned with a dying woman whom he loved greatly, his mother. Klara was suffering from breast cancer and would die in December of 1907. The death of his mother brought great sorrow to Hitler. The family physician said, I have never seen anyone so prostrate with grief as Adolf Hitler (Twisted 71). Hitler felt that he should not give up his love for art, so he reapplied to the art academy. This time, Hitler didnt even pass the preliminary exam. Hitler was offended greatly and couldnt believe what happened. In desperation for a source of income, Hitler joined the German Army and began attending meetings of the Nazi party. This is the major turning point in Hitlers life that might have brought on the power-demanding personality that is a part of his name. As you can see, Hitler has been subjected to many altered experiences in his childhood. These things may have quite possibly turned the once playful youngster, into a tyrannical leader of the Nazi party.

Stress Essay Everyone has experienced some type of stress for some it may be severe for others it may be mild. There are many things that can cause stress for people it ranges from, family troubles such as money to forgetting your homework. There are many types of stress which will be described below. There are also many ways that your body responds to stress or how stress might affect your body. Its important to minimize your stress level for your health and there are many ways to minimize stress. There are also many signs or stress like worrying, dont forget everyone gets stressed at one point or another. There are three different stages of stress the alarm stage, the resistance stage and the exhaustion stage. The alarm stage is when adrenalin is released into the blood and when your blood pressure increases. It is also when your breathing rate quickens and more sugar is released into your blood stream. The resistance stage is when your body adapts to the continued presence of the stressor. The resistance stage requires a lot more of your energy, as a result of that you may become tired, irritable and not as able to handle any added stress. The exhaustion stage is when you can no longer keep up with any of the work placed on you. During this stage your physical and mental resources are depleted. The exhaustion stage occurs only if a stressor continues for a long time, usually months or even years. The stages of stress can take a real toll on your body. There are many signs of stress that occur in your body while youre stressed. One of the more popular signs of stress would be increase of breathing rate and worrying. The first things that come to mind when I think of stress would be homework, chores, worry, butterflies and my heartbeat. Homework comes to mind because, when I have tons of work to do that is do the next day I start to freak out because it wont be my best. My breathing rate increases and I start to get frustrated and it doesnt help me get my work done. Butterflies is another thing that comes to mind because when I start to get stressed I get nervous which causes my stomach to do flips which I refer to as butterflies. Scared is another sign of stress because when you get stressed for a test you start to get scared that you will fail it and it will affect your future. People have also known to get depressed when their stressed because they get overwhelmed with what they have to deal with. Mad is another sign of stress be cause for some people when they get stressed they cant get anything done making them mad at themselves and others. There are many ways that the body responds to stress. The fight or flight response is known to be the humans most basic survival response. There are four different stages to the fight or flight response which includes stimulus, make a decision and body=activated and then dealt with. Stage one of the fights or flight response is stimulus. The second stage of the fight or flight response is to decide if it is a threat or a non-threat. The third stage of the fight or flight response is body=activated, which is when your body decides to fight instead of flight. The fourth stage of the flight or fight response is when the threat is dealt with and your body returns to the homeostasis part. Its important to reduce your stress level for your own health.

Jeans are one of many ways in which a person can send a message to other people concerning various aspects of one’s character, an easy and understandable way at that. Given the large scale of marketing activities of clothing manufacturers nowadays, if jeans did not send a message, the producing companies would invent a message for them. It is just so fascinating to impart a twist of meaning to a couple of pants so that the pubic can identify them with a particular style or trend. This is the age of individualisation and customization, and clothing manufacturers do not want to stay behind. They want to make their product specific and readily recognizable – and they do everything they can to appeal to their target audience with a specific message. For instance, Levis are now seen as a traditional American outfit, something that brings one back to the times of life on the frontier or something that our grandparents wore. Girls can also wear tight jeans or choose those that are very low-cut to emphasize their appeal. As with revealing clothing in general, a person wearing such clothing demonstrates that he or she is very confident of one’s ability to attract other people and happy or at least not shameful of one’s figure. This is not always the case, and those who think their bodies are distasteful are not likely to choose jeans that will reveal a large part of it. Another message linked to wearing sexy jeans is the manifestation of the desire to be liked by the opposite sex. Surely we all or almost all have this desire, but not everybody would dare to reveal it in public, either in words or in clothing. Many people are wary of being too open about this inner drive and try to suppress it as something indecent. The individual who chooses to demonstrate this natural instinct is sending a message to representatives of the opposite sex: â€Å"Look at me, I want you to appreciate me. Am I not good-looking? † Tight jeans will almost surely make guys inspect a girl’s figure more closely than that of her more modest friends even if those look like top models. She will then attract more suitors – but at the same time risks incurring girls’ anger as they recognize that she is out on a hunt and will grab a fair share of what could have been their prey. Thus, wearing provocative jeans can also be a sign of daring, ability to defy social norms and to disregard the opinion of other people. Since in most cultures flirting is reserved for informal surroundings, a person who puts on a sexy-looking pair indicates that he or she believes to be in a setting where flirting is acceptable and one can expect to find a partner. Few people would seriously consider putting on provocative jeans on a corporate outing since this would send the wrong message to the colleagues. Besides, jeans can look either sophisticated or sloppy, and this distinction, too, is meaningful. A person may choose to look sloppy in order to underscore the informality of the situation and to make others feel at ease. This effect can occur when, for instance, an official or top-level executive invents a little outing with subordinates and wants to appear in the image of a simple, down-to-earth man attentive to their needs and feelings. Choice of an upscale-looking, elegant pair of jeans may not be quite the right choice since this will remind the inferiors once again about the difference in the social status between them and their boss.
